  With 2023-24 proving to be a tough challenge for Aston Villa in the WSL, Lehmann had already shared her excitement ahead of linking up with the Switzerland squad for this month's internationals against Turkey and Azerbaijan. Switzerland are confusingly taking part in the Euro 2025 qualifying process despite already being guaranteed a place at the tournament as hosts. However, that is because it also serves a purpose in determining the make-up of the various leagues for the next edition of the Women's Nations League in 2025-26.

  WHAT NEXT FOR LEHMANN?

  Lehmann is one game away from her 50th appearance for Switzerland and should achieve it against either Turkey or Azerbaijan. After this international break, the 25-year-old will then return to Villa in the hope of a strong end to the season. The club sit seventh in the WSL table but face an uphill battle to move into the top half before the campaign finishes, with title challengers Chelsea and Manchester City still to face in the final four games. She remains under contract with Villa until 2026.
